Terrence McGee Worried About Getting Cut

Sal Maiorana published an article yesterday that confirms something we’ve suspected for a while now: that Terrence McGee may be on the outside looking for a roster spot on the Buffalo Bills.

It may seem strange that in a cornerback group dominated by rookies and NFL sophomores, the player with the most extensive experience and resume of solid play could be the odd man out. However, McGee is still recovering from a torn patella tendon in his knee that is keeping him from inspiring confidence from the coaches that he can play the majority of a NFL season.

McGee’s season last year provided some of the best glimpses of McGee’s ability (he was easily the best corner against the run), however it was also representive of his inability to stay on the field, getting put on the IR after the week 10 game against Dallas.

If McGee is not able to physically prepare and start competing for a corner position,  Buffalo will be trotting out a whole bunch of under classmen to cover opposing receivers (Stephon Gilmore, Aaron Williams, Justin Rogers, and Ron Brooks). Also it may put added emphasis on everyones second favorite whipping boy, Leodis McKelvin (after Chris Kelsay, of course), to provide leadership as the cornerback with by far the most experience on the Bills roster.
